Trial Version is a fully functioning release of the program, but it will function only for a set number of days (usually 14). After the trial period has expired, you may purchase the software by entering a serial number into it. When you do so, the software becomes a full release and you can run the Register and Check for Updates commands.
Statistical Analysis Plans may be submitted as an Update to a trial when they are included in the published study protocol or uploaded as an additional file. Read more in this article.
