The Congress update contains information on current congressional activity. It is usually updated the morning after House or Senate chamber sessions adjourn. See the About pages in this collection for more information about how to find and use congressional resources. The Congressional Calendars collection includes the Calendars of the U.S. House of Representatives and History of Legislation and the Senate Calendar of Business, which contains legislative business eligible for floor action. The calendars list committee meetings and hearings, as well as legislative business that is pending in the House and Senate. Congresses meet for two-year periods, and convene on March 4 of odd-numbered years and adjourn on January 3 of even-numbered years.
